If you visit my bathroom month in the next month you will see:
I AM WORTH SPENDING MONEY ON
scrawled across my mirror.
Check my phone and you’ll see a reminder:
I am worth spending money on
I am worthy of receiving gifts
I am worth it
And pinned up behind my computer, amongst the pics of my kids and cats:
I AM WORTH SPENDING MONEY ON
The ‘I am worth spending money on’ mantra was the result of taking in a whole lot of learning and a wonderful self-coaching worksheet i had downloaded
The phrase ‘I am worth spending money on’ came right out of the blue as my subconscious released exactly what I needed, when I needed it ... here's the story:
I am simultaneously reading, watching, and listening to @deniseduffield “Get Rich Lucky Bitch’ and one of the questions in the workbook was a simple ‘anything else you want to add’ kind of journal entry, and BAM it hit me, all my life I have felt the message that I am not worth spending money on.
I grew up on welfare, literally going to school in shoes with the soles worn through and jumpers that didn’t fit.
Extra cash was rare and generally was donated back to the church. On the occasions when I did get new clothes it was always a bargain hunt, and a make do with what we have. Frugality was not a budget choice, but a demonstration of faith and that unhealthy ‘look at me’ humility.
The message I received from all of this was that I wasn’t a priority when it came to spending.
The message I received was that if there was any money left over there were more important things and people to spend it on.
The message I received was that if money had to be spent on me, only buy what is absolutely essential and at the cheapest price.
Not exactly an ABUNDANT MINDSET message to grow up on huh!?!
The realisation that simple little question offered me was a few generations of healing power.
Working through the messages, I realised that my mother and her mother were given the same message “you’re not worth it”, and of course this is exactly the message that I have inadvertently demonstrated to my children as well.
Aaaggghhhh.
So now I get to do some financial healing for me, for the mothers and sisters of my line, and for my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
This realisation has handed me the keys to opening the financial freedom door, to releasing the limiting beliefs that have held me and my family back for so long, and allowing my to live the life I deserve.
I choose me, and I choose my financial freedom. I am choosing to do the healing work and become a wealth magnet. Oh yeah!
